More Traffic Updates

On Monday 29 March 2026 officers from C Relief and A Relief at the Town Hall conducted a traffic operation on Deansgate, as well as on Owen Street, Pond Street, and River Place around Deansgate Square. 

This was in part in response to recent reports received of vehicles being driven in a nuisance manner in the area, as well as parking in a way that was obstructive or dangerous.

On Deansgate we seized 3 vehicles, one for no insurance and two foreign-registered vehicles where the drivers did not hold a valid license. 20 different offences were identified including ghost plates and illegal window tints, with 9 offenders reported for using a mobile phone whilst driving.

Around Deansgate Square, 4 vehicles were issued with tickets for parking in a manner that caused obstruction, with 3 of these being seized as we were unable to contact the owners to move the vehicle, or the vehicle could not be legally moved. We also seized one foreign registered vehicle on River Place as the driver could not prove they held relevant insurance.
